Varpu_ai
So there is a negative mark on all three of my reports with the respective bureaus (pertaining to an auto loan from 2017, the auto loan is 100% not mine). The local credit union that it says the auto loan was through has told me repeatedly on the phone that they have no records for this auto loan, and that if I dispute it with the CRAs, it will be removed since they will be unable to verify it with the CRAs. All 3 credit bureaus returned with “VERIFIED AS ACCURATE”. I sent them a letter in the mail, requesting for the method of verification they used when they supposedly verified this trade line. That was over a month ago, and none of the CRAs even acknowledged my letter. From here, would it be prudent that I take them to court or file in arbitration for this fairly straightforward violation? On its face, with what you are telling I would imagine it is a violation. I recommend speaking to an attorney personally. In the alternative ask the credit union who says they have no records for you having an auto loan with them to provide you that information in writing and send that to the credit bureaus.
