Charged off/Sold accounts

I have an account that was charged off and sold. In May I paid off the debt with the collection agency but the credit report still shows debt. How can I get bureaus to update if the original creditor sold the debt?

This is a little confusing. 
Who is reporting the debt?  Is it the OC or is it the JDB which bought the debt?

 I assume you paid off the JDB?

When you say that the credit report still shows debt, to which company are you referring?

Are both the original creditor and the debt collector reporting?

If the original creditor is reporting, does it show a balance?
