Ok I just had to post this since it has happened to me 3 times now and I'm really frustrated but trying to keep my cool till the 30 days on my dispute runs out.

Lately I have noticed that when you do not fall for the "send us a copy of your DL" crap so they can buy more time on your dispute the CRA has been making a slight change on your CR to force you to call them. Once you call them and dispute that one account, you just gave them 2 weeks for the original dispute. Their time is up in 1 week for the dispute I just did and the B*tc%$# went and changed a paid $0 balance student loan to an N/A student loan. This caused my fico to drop 9 points. Last time I disputed, they put an account in BK and it killed me by 30 pts. I call them and make them fix it AFTER my results come back but it's a pain in the xshakeitx to let my Fico score take a beating till I can fix it. Just figured I would warn you guys.

I think they spend more time trying to avoid their job, than actually doing it. I dispute by mail, with copy of DL and SSN card (with first 5 blacked out) when they send me the letter i just call and say nope, not gonna send it. it is on the BOTTOM of my orignal dispute. see it there? thank you, BTW you have 4 days to complete your investigation.

That gets um jumping.

I just don't call them, only post, so that every communication leaves a paper trail.

I also wait to send a new dispute after I've received a response from the current one, just in case. Not sure if that makes a difference or not, but I have to have a problem with them extending the time on me. I'm usually not under a time crunch, so I don't pay so much attention to exactly how many days it takes them.

Another update, since this happened a few days ago and I didn't respond to them, the bastards went and adjusted a 2ND account just like the first! They have 5 days left now and I can't wait to tell them off!

if you mail them a letter saying "I provided the information requested in my original dispute" you just gave them 14 more days. If you call and say, nope! you got it already, you did not.

CSC was a pain to deal with and thats why I always did CMRRR's with them. I'd call them up on the 30th day and get the status of my dispute. They would come back with some BS and I'd tell them if the oc/ca hasn't verified by today, I want it removed now because you signed for this dispute on 30 days ago. I'd tell them I'm not responsible for their department being inefficient or unorganized. I didn't settle for anything less.
