ImaBird Posted February 12, 2008 Report Posted February 12, 2008 I sent online disputes to all (3) CRAs.Equifax is now listing a trade-line in dispute that I did not dispute! Is that normal! On top of it, I disputed a late payment on an old Chase/Circuit City card, and the otherwise clean TL completely disappeared instead!!!Oy vei... why can't they just do what I ask...?
Donna47129 Posted February 12, 2008 Report Posted February 12, 2008 Hey Imabird,Yup, TU and EX verified a wrong trade line of mine before with HBSC. I disputed an old paid charge off and they verified my good current account. I have proof of which line I disputed because I did it online and printed off what I was disputing but haven't sent it in yet to ask them to delete the old one since they didn't verify it in 30 days.If you have proof that you did, in fact, dispute one that they didn't verify they may delete it. If you verbally told them or you didn't print out the dispute then you have no proof.Good luck!
jq26 Posted February 12, 2008 Report Posted February 12, 2008 They do it all the time. A side effect of hiring minimum wage employees and giving them about 1 minute to get through each dispute. The flipside is, that these same people may just feel really azy one day and hit the delete button on bad tradelines as well. The dispute process is a crapshoot.
Donna47129 Posted February 12, 2008 Report Posted February 12, 2008 PS>Wait until the 30 days are up for the one that you didn't dispute to come back or they will add another 15 days to anything else you dispute.
betam4x Posted February 15, 2008 Report Posted February 15, 2008 A little FYI: If they don't dispute the accounts you asked them to (you did dispute via CMRR right?) then you will have them on FCRA violations as they ignored your dispute request.
