Thanks a million!

Can I use this to my advantage somehow? For example, I have one debt that shows an amount of $3xx on TU and EX, but $0 on EQ. I have another where the amounts and everything are the same; however all (3) CRA's have a different account #!!!

I don't know about Virginia, but where I'm from, they can mark out whatever you write, and basically replace it with what they want, making it legal for them to pursue you for the "remaining balance". I'm with Debt Guy on this one, but if you must, then do make sure you have a copy of the money order! (Don't send them a check!!!)

When you draft a lawsuit... you can just mail it CMRR, right? It doesn't have to be served?
-
So it should be less of a letter of verification, and more of an intent to sue? I wish I was more legally saavy... I've never drafted a lawsuit... Google, here I come! Thanks momof5!!!

Thank you... I'm not familiar with the name of the CA, and they're not on my CR... but who knows... I have so many!
-
When a CA sends you a collection letter, do they have to notify you of your right to validate in that letter?
-
Also, how long does Honda have to update their information instead of removing it?
-
Okay, I think I fixed the image... it's showing up on my computer... momof5, would you by any chance still have to contact information for Honda's corporate attorney? In addition to telling him that they violated FCRA by listing incorrect information, can I also tell him they violated by not notifying us of listing neg info on our CR? I'll be sending the CRA dispute on Monday! Also, does anyone know the section of the FCRA to quote? I am looking for it now, but maybe someone knows it off the top of their head... Thanks a million!

Yeah, sorry, I didn't post the right picture... ...here are the actual TL's: That's a pretty good threat, momof5! Congrats! Any suggestions on a threat that a civilian could give? I found out last night, to my GREAT dismay, that my husband shredded the letter they sent saying that we are paid in full. Now all I have is a bank statement showing the EFT payment... oi... The amount of the payment is $398, though. Would it be beneficial to dispute it with the CRA? Maybe saying, hey look, there are (2) TL's here, and I've only ever had one loan, and it's paid in full? Because technically, it is. I guess that's high dreaming, isn't it? HELP!!!

Thank you so much! I hope that they change it instead of delete it, though, because it's an otherwise good TL! It is on all (3) CR's...

I have a car loan on my credit report that was late (5) months in a row - November 2004 through March 2005. The loan was paid in full as agreed in October 2005. Is this Good Will letter material, or should I dispute it? Thanks!
-
I don't see anything like that... in fact there are places that tell me that I can get the other two CR's by paying for them... click on the pic below to see: It looks like it's just a plain old TU CR, because I haven't added EX or EQ yet...
-
How long do they have to update before I can ask for deletion? And are they allowed to have both TLs?
-
Well, from what it LOOKS like... ...it seems as though the one that says "Condition: Closed" and doesn't look negative is the original truck loan. Then the derogatory one looks like the one that shows that we surrendered it. The funny thing is, we settled the balance. It shouldn't show that we have a balance. But here's a catch. When the truck was auctioned, they said we owed $7xx. They said that they would mark the account paid in full if we paid $3xx. We paid it. And we haven't heard from them since, except for a letter that says that we are paid in full. Could this "balance" be the difference between the $7xx that we owed, and the $3xx that settled the account?

Okay, I signed up for the (30) day free trial of TC. So I know for sure that Honda is listed twice on TU... The TLs are listed in the first post... ...any input? Is this legal? :

Thank you, willingtocope, you've been a HUGE help! -
FIA Card Services calling about BoA collections...

So basically, if he did guarantee it, it could take a long time to show up on his CR, but it still could, and they can still come after him for the money. And sue him. And probably whatever else they want. So even though they would then be coming after him personally, the FDCPA still doesn't apply? -

Since I'm not 100% positive that my DH didn't personally guarantee this card... Call me paranoid, but is there any chance that BofA isn't reporting to his personal CR to "trick" us, so that if we do close up shop for good they can attack us personally? -
My husband voluntarily surrendered our Honda to Honda Finance in early 2007 because we couldn't keep up w/ it's payments in addition to his truck payments. He has to keep his truck for work, so the Honda had to go. It went to auction, sold with $7xx left over in the loan. They offered to settle with us at $365, and we accepted. So we're paid up. I used search, but everything I found seemed to be from people who had suffered repo and didn't pay the balance... Is there ANY way to remove this TL?

Okay, I just pulled my husbands CR, like willingtocope suggested, and our business debt is not on there, which leads me to believe that he did not personally guarantee the credit card. So at this point, without the $1200 to file bankruptcy, and without the ability to pay the debt, I suppose I'm out of options... -
Thanks, LB!

Can you remove a fraud alert from your credit? My husband used to have LifeLock, and the fraud alert is still lingering. We want it gone... for now...

My husband voluntarily surrendered our Honda earlier this year because we were after trouble finding work after being discharged from the military. I just pulled a 3-in-1 for my husband using PM through Key Bank. It shows 2 different TL's for Honda Finance, that look like this: (1) Account #: 4026**** Type: Auto Loan Opened: 01/05/2004 Condition: Derogatory Pay Status: Collection/Chargeoff Reported: 08/06/2007 Balance: $398 Payment: $399 Responsibility: Maker (2) Account #: 11087474539**** Type: Auto Loan Opened: 12/16/2003 Condition: Closed Pay Status: Unknown Reported: 01/31/2004 Balance: $0 Payment: $394 Responsibility: Joint So what's that all about?

Thank you!
