  1. One thing about FHA loans: They are really only concerned about your credit history for the past 12 months. I just spoke to a broker about an FHA 203K loan, and that is precisely what he told me.
  2. For TU, you can go here: http://www.transunion.com/corporate/personal/creditDisputes.page?popup=true For the rest, I'm not sure. I hope someone knows...
  3. I'm not sure. My name is on the checks, and I have a check card with my name on it... I'll find out... Thanks.
  4. Impressive! I hope they go for it!
  5. Can my checking account be garnished if it is actually my husband's account, and I am just a secondary user?
  6. Well, according the my local municipal court website, they were granted access to my bank account, but not my personal earnings. I believe it was listed as "monies, property, credits, but not personal earnings." The thing that pi$$es me off is that the money I put in my bank account IS my personal earnings... oy... Anyway, I have another bank account that I opened a couple of years ago under an EIN for a sole proprietorship I worked on the side... I'm going to be using it from now on. BUT, I really need to get rid of this... I'm trying to buy a home. I'm just afraid of offering a settlement, because that will just make them come after me harder... but I don't have the cash for the whole thing... it's almost $3K!
  7. Oh, yeah, does anybody know if, when the creditor requests a writ to garnish another account, do they have to notify the debtor?
  8. What, pray tell, are you suggesting?
  9. Actually, the bank that I used when the judgment was granted is about 4 blocks from the bank that they tried to garnish me from... and I opened the cc account in the same county that I currently reside in. I paid my cc bills with checks, but I don't have that account anymore. I've NEVER had an account with the bank they tried to garnish from. They tried to garnish through Chase Bank, and I've only ever had a Chase cc. Also, both my bank and the bank of garnishment are within walking distance from my house...
  10. So pretty much I have to pay it? And they won't be willing to settle for less? Oy... this is going to be fun... where to start...
  11. They have 21 years in Ohio. They can renew the judgment every 5 years. sgip2000, do they have to go back to court to get a writ to garnish my true account? Will I know about it before they do it? Can I DV them still, or is that a bad idea? Thank you for all your help.
  12. The judgment was from a year ago, and they still haven't garnished me or frozen any accounts...
  13. I have a judgment on my CR from Palisades. If I were to DV Palisades, and they couldn't validate, could/would this affect my judgment? Thanks.
  14. These are the last 2 activities on my judgment history... what do they mean? _______________________________ 03/26/2007 Garnishment ret'd - no record of Defendant (JP Morgan Chase Bank) 0.00 0.00 03/26/2007 Garnishment ret'd - located no deposit accts (JP Morgan Chase Bank) $0.00 $0.00 ________________________________ They were granted permission to garnish me, but they looked at the wrong bank... is this just saying that they didn't find me? How long do they have to garnish me? Could they do it in 10 years if they find out where I bank or work?

  16. Holy moly! Isn't there another way to get this crap off my report!!!??? Guess I'll call the Clerk of Courts...
  17. Here's my story: I have a judgment from Palisades. OC is Chase Bank. The judgment was made on 1/31/07 (exactly a year ago). My ground is this: I was never served. I use a UPS Store mailbox as a mailing address, and have experienced missing mail a few times with them over the past few years, so it wouldn't surprise me if that is the case here as well. The fact is, they will not have a green card with my signature on it. What are my chances of winning? Has anyone else fought a Palisades judgment before?
  18. Me, too! Some of us need all the encouragement we can get!
  19. Woot! They're finally doing something!!!
  20. This is now on my EX credit report: "Customer disputed account - reported by subscriber." Who is the subscriber? Is that me? What did I subscribe to?
  21. Oh my goodness, make it a sticky!
  22. ...because I wasn't properly served, do I have to show up in court, or is that something that is settled out of court?
  23. When I pulled my report the first time, I was surprised to find a judgment against me from Palisades. I had never received the summons... all of my mail goes to a UPS Store mailbox, and I told them never to sign for anything for me or my husband. I guess somebody signed for the summons, but I never received it. Has anyone else had luck removing judgments? Do you have to go to court to do it?
  24. They pulled EQ for my husband.
