  1. Grasshoppa, when you can snatch the baddies from your credit report, then it will be time to leave. Sorry I couldn't resist the Kung-Fu reference. Try disputing 6 of your freshest with Experian online for starters, than dispute by mail with the other two repositories. Baby steps sensai.
  2. Hey BucFan, I like your avatar, being a packer fan I don't have that luxury.
  3. An unseasoned loan is neither good nor bad. The 2% difference in interest rate will put 200. dollars a year back into your pocket based on a 10,000 loan. What are the closing costs, if any to HSBC. Take the new loan and get after that inquiry.
  4. What would probably happen is after a month the OC would rereport the account.
  5. Thanks for the responses. I think I should dispute with the OC. Amy do you remember if FMCC handles end term accounts any differently than others?
  6. I don't think a positive tradeline can hurt you.
  7. Just going back and forth with FMCC. All 3 cr's list a last payment co after a 30 day late. I goodwill ford, get back the holly as thou reprimand. I write back suggesting co is a punitive action. Dept. head responds with rightious indignation and messes up my report worse. The account is current oct 14, payment is made. Last payment due Nov 14, no pay. On what date is that a 30 day late ? The new reporting shows OK Oct, 30 Nov, 60 Dec, 90 Jan and Charge off Jan 12th. My math has no payment Nov, 30 Dec and CO Jan 12. Am I calculating this wrong?
  8. These ole' boys are tough. An untimely DV bounces right off em. A dispute to the CRA will come back varified. They are pretending to be the original creditors, extending the DOFD and reporting you late every single month. You will see they are reporting under the installment debt section of your reports, instead of the collection section. The factoring term refers to a company that buys receivables from cash strapped businesses at a discount in order to collect the full amount when it is due. They , however are debt collectors pure and simple. I'm going to post another thread to inquire as to who has had success and why.
  9. I don't belive in catch and release. Forgive yourself, SuperBad is SuperFunny. Get yourself a circuit City card, they only pull Equifax(Nascar Devil).
  10. Thanks for the code BT!
  11. Was it district or superior court? Any action on your part will notify opposing consul. Usually improper service is a death knell to a judgement. To challenge it properly you need a copy of the contents of the court file. Find a lawyer with an adress close to the courthouse in question and get an opinion. If your judgement proof you might want to try to settle with cap one for vacating the judgement.
  12. Hey Jennierose start by reading the stickys in each category. There is a search button which will lead you to subjects your interested in simply by typing in some key words. Try starting your own thread, as off topic questions in the middle of threads tend to get passed over. Your question is right up our alley. hell yes, and you'll do it yourself with support from this forum.
  13. I have been patiently waiting for a response from Ford Motor Credit for three weeks now. I'll wait to see if they make any changes to my credit report when they report March 1st. It's really a crapshoot. I'll next write to ole Mr ford himself, and remind him of his current situation.
  14. I understand what bump means with reference to inquiries, but I'm not sure what you mean in this instance with relationship to this thread.
  15. Hey I had heard that Crown was not reporting any longer. True, not true?
  16. Thanks again Nascar. The DV was timely, and I was just thinking that reporting was a form of collecting, and according to True Credit they continuously reported throughout DV.
  17. It won't hurt pop's credit unless you use the card irresponsibly. Do it now, give him back the card and apply for credit as previously stated.
  18. Also Nascar what was your EQ score when you applied for Circuit City, I'm around 595. I have a Circuit City acct in good standing that I closed. What is the proceedure with this type of request? thanks.
  19. I just received an incomplete response to a DV from CBCS. Does the tradeline of the collection have to disappear from your CR while in validation, or is it allowed if it is reported as disputed? How complete is complete?
  20. There is a little window of opportunity to get on as an authorized user. The AU is better because all of the scoring benefits of a well aged, low utilization, high limit card get factored into YOUR score. Don't take the card, give it back to the benevolent entity(dad) that hooked you up. Wait for it to start reporting and apply for some better types of credit.
  21. Sure they have. With the right amount of pressure they all fold like a card table. I had to laugh because I also have a verizon that won't play ball. I mostly visit this site to read, but it's such a solitary endeavour that posting actually makes me feel less isolated, it kinda reenergizes ya.
  22. Thanks for the info Nascar. The account was paid in full that day, 59 days after due date. If the OC can CO after any degree of late, than the consumer is at the mercy of the OC especially with respect to installment loans with colateral at end term. It would seem they relish the opportunity to give you a kick on the way out the door. Does the Fico model deduct more for a chargeoff than for a 60 day late?
  23. One of my baddies (my worstie) is a FMC CO Feb 07'. I was current Nov 06' Late Dec. 06'(30). At this point there was only one payment left on the contract. The due date was the 14th of the month. I called to make the final payment Jan 14th 07', and was told the account was sent to collections. I have searched the stickys and the search formats to determine if there is any prescribed waiting period before a CO can be instituted by a creditor. I know I was a bad dog, but the OC's action seems a bit punitive to me. I have written a good will letter, but there has been no response.
  24. Birdy; Read the sticky on LVNV in the collections section. Sears is CitiBank, they sell most of their bad paper to LVNV. They in turn muck up your credit report by reporting as an O.C. Take these guys very seriously, as their intentions are to do as much damage to your score as possible. When I bought my score from MyFico.Com the accompanying report showed a recent late as hurting my score most, The bogus tradeline under Installment accounts was LVNV. I don't know about anybody else, but these jokers are becomming my white whale.
  25. I guess this must be business as usual. I've got JDB(LVNV) reporting a charge off (Sears/Citi) as an OC under the installment section of my credit report. They are also reporting 30 day late, Months reviewed 1. I don't have any current lates so I pulled my score at MyFico. The file lists reasons for your low score(530) TU, and recent late was #1. Guess who? I have offered pay for delete, but they don't respond. They are content to just keep poisioning the score. I'm outside the windoe for DV but I disputed the OC status, and the lates. What is the next move when the CRA's verify? Word just in...... these guys are good.
