  1. Congratulations Fiz !! To any of you that think you can't do this, fine, quit and give up. It will not happen for you and never by not spending the time. I did not have as long a road as many here, but spent a lot of time here learning and doing. I've not been around in some time, but know this works. Now my record is spotless, and I'm happy to say my FICO average is 800. I started in the 600's. Everyone has a different situation, so spend the time to learn by reading from those that have done it.
  2. Beyond the reporting period. 7 years in most cases.
  3. Willing, Interesting theory, but doesn't hold with me. I disputed everything and things dropped via one manner or another and my scores have gone way up. Now they initially went down and up and down, but eventually they stayed up. Don't know what list I'm on, but want to stay on it.
  4. Excellent and congatulations.
  5. It happens. I had bigger drops than that with nothing particular that happened to cause it. Also had large jumps the other way. Look at a post of mine here if you want to see the roller coaster ride I have the CRA scores designing for me. Don't sweat the bouncing ball too much as long as it trends up over time. http://debt-consolidation-credit-repair-service.com/forums/showthread.php?t=282649
  6. A) If the account is in good standing, it adds to the overall age of accounts and helps the score. Also shows a balance of account types, so I would keep it. The lates will go away after 7 years, so might be better to keep it, depending on the age. Might want to just dispute the lates as "never late" and see what happens. Often times they will drop the lates and it converts to a good TL. They can sometimes though delete the account, or may verify it. Not much harm in trying.

  8. I had a recent medical PFD, but they're easy.
  9. Yes, medical collections, like all collections, impact your scores. Like all TL's their weight is less with age. By the way, medicals tend to be the easiest to PFD.
  10. VB, Excellent, I was going to mention airplanes. The wagon trains, although charming, are very slow. Glad you made it. Oh, and congratulations to you and DH on year one !!!
  11. Wow, that sucks. You may wish to go back to them and ask that they not remove the TL. You want all the good ones you can get.
  12. Yes, Credit Secure you have to have an Amex account.
  13. They can be all over the map on the scores. I have found Credit Secure to be very accurate, as compared to the FICO's, but must have an Amex account.
  14. Once again I thank you all, but I really feel the thanks are due to each and every person I've learned from here. Far too many to name, and applies to everyone from the newbies to the old timers. I found that at times everyone has useful insights and information to share, or even just different perspectives. It all helped me. Virginabound (and look me up if you ever get here ) And anyone else who may be interested, here's a link to my FTP site where you can get the Excel spreadsheet (with Charts) and three PDF's that help explain how to manipulate the charts for the Excel challenged. There are other sheets that I used to track everything in order to figure out what happens and what the impacts are. Should be explained in the PDF's, but let me know if any questions. This assumes just very basic Excel knowledge to use, like changing font or cell colors, adding or deleting rows and columns and otherwise is already pre-formatted for everything. I left some of my color formatting up so you could understand how I coded to make it easier to see things. It should all make sense...... I hope. http://www.box.net/shared/m5ahibkoco
  15. Thanks all, but really the credit is due all the folks I learned from here. Houdino, how about a BMX bike? That's close, right?
  16. Probably why they refer to them as FAKO. Actually, I find that Credit Secure has been pretty accurate, to date. It has my EQ exactly the same as FICO, EX within one point and TU is off about 15 or so points. The information has been correct for me. That's close enough as a gauge for me. I take them with a grain of salt though. It's all VooDoo magic and Bingo wheels.
  17. TT, That's still great. Look where they were when you started!! You have a lot more progress than I made. You are right on the edge now. Mine hung in the high 600's then bang jumped up to the 700's quick.
  18. Yes, if you are talking about the Medicals. They are easiest to PFD. I sent you a PM
  19. People here are posting what they know from their own experiences. Many people here have PM and if it's broken you will have to find a way to get to them. Not sure anyone here could have forseen the issue you have had. If you put it on a CC, why not just refuse the payment when you get the bill? That way they will have to call you, rather than the other way around.
  20. Another one bites the dust !! Congratulations
  21. Thanks Amerikaner and all, just wanted to show that you can learn a great deal here and results do happen.
  22. NYLady, I sent you a PM with the link to the spreadsheet and three PDF's that show how to use the charts and spreadsheets. Let me know if you have any questions.
  23. In Virginia, at least, the A&S endorsement can be referenced on the check to a letter with the language of the A&S. I think it can be difficult to get all that into the little area provided on the check. In Virginia though courts have said font size and type are not a factor, so in theory it could be microscopic.
  24. Lady, No, I don't mind sharing the spreadsheets at all. These are just charts I created in Excel and can give "blank" ones if you wish. You simply add to the columns to the left and chart draws for you. The more important spreadsheets I used are not shown and was a one stop place to keep track of all the information. I hate keeping paper records of this type information, so I track everything in Excel. Naturally you still want to keep paper copies of all letters sent and received though.
