  1. ok, law experts.......here's what I don't get. If my report was pulled by ANYONE for something I had applied for, and I received the credit I requested. How do you think that creditor would feel now if they knew I had 17 more inq's than they thought, and it changed by score by 30+ points? If that had been enough for them to deny me credit, but instead they approved my application, wouldnt that have somehow violated FCRA laws? I mean, it's not in my favor but it still would seem to me a reason for them to not have corrected their mistake. Am I crazy for thinking this way?
  2. shucks, wish I could join that bank but looks like I have no way to qualify
  3. my father in law was in the Navy, so I'm certain that my wife and I could apply because of it.......but the thing is, that's not the kind of info I want to ask of my father in law, he's kind of odd in the ways and means of finances (he'd think I was broke if I asked him for this info). Is there another way around it? I remember when I tried to sign up it asked for some kind of military ID or something.
  4. I hate to kick the dirt off this old topic but I need help! I sent a letter to EQ asking to remove the FA from my report, only to have them ADD the extended 7 year alert, and then notify EX and TU, which in turn did the same thing! How will I get that thing off my report?? 7 years??
  5. I'm thinking about doing this with EX, my question is this; my fraud alert just fell off, so I can't use the old method of removing inq's right now. I had planned on doing another FA so that I could wash my inq's, should I do that before I place the freeze on the report? Does the freeze fall off in 90 days like an FA?
  6. i've used this method with success in the past, but now it doesnt seem to work for me I've used the same form and format now twice in the past month and nothing has fallen off. Did they change the way in which you are to input the inquiry disputes?
  7. if it's worth it for you to spend a few bucks to get it off, pm and I'll give you my attorney's info. He's the arch nemesis of Cavalry and just the mention of his name will have them removing their TL and enq's in a heartbeat.
  8. ok, I just got off the phone with them. I'm a bit surprised that they take your word for getting the letter and not having it shown somewhere on your account. Also the girl on the phone also told me that they do this 4 times a year (once per quarter), and since I opted for the $500 credit limit increase that I should call back in 3 months and take the 6% interest reduction. I've had the card for only 4 mos, was opened up with a $500 limit and given an increase to $750 just last month. I'm now at $1250, not too shabby. FACO 7/07 TU 565 EX 551 EQ 540 8/07 TU 630 EX 610 EQ 578 9/07 TU 660 EX 661 EQ 622 10/07 TU 640 EX 592 EQ 538 11/07 TU 647 EX 638 EQ 648 12/07 TU 660 EX 640 EQ 660 01/08 TU 644 EX 662 EQ 660 02/08 TU 638 EX 660 EQ 682 03/08 TU 650 EX 666 EQ 683 FICO 10/07 TU 670 EQ 661 EX 622 11/07 TU 670 EQ 691 EX 677 12/07 TU 694 EQ 688 EX 725 01/08 TU 664 EQ 716 EX 708 02/08 TU 674 EQ 724 EX 725
  9. i used this method to successfully go from 23 down to 5. In the past 3 months it went up to 12, yesterday I faxed a request to remove the 7 new inqs and they were gone today.
  10. I believe that fax number you listed for EX is their fraud dept. I've used this fax number with good results to remove inq's. They will remove them if you have a fraud alert and fax them a copy of your dl and ss along with your request. I dont think it will work for other disputes, tho I havent tried.
  11. they declined me last november, since I've gotten the 1 baddie off of EQ. I re-applied yesterday, they pulled EQ (my fico is 703), sent them check stubs (annual income is $90k), and they gave me the bogus 'pyramid debts' excuse and declined me again. Screw em
  12. ditto for me, didnt work
  13. well, I finally figured it out. After some patients, it does work. Will post the results of this method once I receive them. Fingers crossed!
  14. they pulled Ex here in Ca. I just got approved last month for $1000, faco 650/fico 700. I put in a request for CLI after just two weeks, was given auto approval online for $5000. Also, added my wife as AU and card started reporting immediately to her credit report.
  15. you've all been helpful with advice about my continued pursuit of removing a CO I have on my report. But now that I have all 3 cra's reporting nearly identical account and inquiries, only EQ has deleted my account with the CO and my fico score is about 30 points lower than TU and EX! It seems deleting that account has hurt my score due to the length of time it was open, much more so than the CO itself. Any advice about giving up the fight and riding it out? I still believe I can get them to delete with the ammo that I have, but now not so sure that I should.
  16. thanks, makes sense now. Funny how I missed that link at the top of the page!
  17. a few weeks ago I disputed inquiries that were either dupes or were actually fraudulent from someone using my SS trying to get a car loan in 2006. I had a total of 23 inq's at the time, EX removed 10 of the 12 that I disputed. I did lump a few on there from Cavalry and Creditco which were CA inq's, they did not remove those and subsequently updated the fraud alert on my report for another 90 days. I submitted this dispute via FAX, included a newly created dispute report number generated from the online dispute form along with a photocopy of my drivers license and SS card. So basically, I can testify that this method DOES work if you have legitimate fraudulent inquiries and follow the instructions found here.
  18. just a thought, would it make sense to send DV letter to Ford? If I were to, they've already told me that they dont have my file so they wouldnt have the means to validate. Would this make sense to try? I'm desperate!
  19. my amex is 4 months new. 2 months ago added my wife as AU and got her a card. Last month added my son as AU and got him a card. Neither one of these caused a hard pull on my report.
  20. I too have done pretty OK with faxing, with the exception of EX. I have 3 different fax numbers for them but am confused with where each of them goes. Have you had fax success with EX?
  21. my best advice is to call the creditor and ask them to voluntarily report/update the information accurately. I had 2 similar accounts (one WAS actually late on my last month), it took about 60 days to get them cleaned up but by calling the creditor and being nice about it, they were really easy to work with and help me correct the error. If the nice guy routine doesn't work, dispute the TL as simply never having a late payment and when verification is done it SHOULD be corrected at that time. I've had great success using the online forms, I'd recommend trying them first. I've also had OK success with faxing disputes, just make sure you send a photo copy of your drivers license and ss card if you do. I just got an updated file today and get this.......EX DELETED 10 OF 14 DISPUTED INQUIRIES!!!! This was on a faxed request. I'm still in a state of shock over that one.
  22. I suppose it's fair to say that I feel that I have them on a possible technicality. First off, I had always contended that I owed them nothing and had satisfied my lease in full. They said I owed them miles overage, I had documentation to disprove this. Because of this, I was able to fight the CA and get them to dismiss, they knew if we went to court that I would pound them. So in my mind, since I beat the CA I feel that I dont deserve the CO from Ford. The technicality is that Ford sent me a letter stating that they couldnt verify my account during the time of dispute because they didnt own it. But during this time, the CRA's were reporting new verification dates, which meant that it wasnt actually Ford that was verifying, but rather Cavalry on their behalf. During that period, they falsely reported additional late charges, re-aged the debt, etc. I was also denied credit during that period. Now after the fact, Ford goes back and reports all of the information they had previous to selling my account as if nothing had ever happened. Just doesnt seem right to me that information reported on their account on my credit record can be abused by a CA, only to be swept under the rug once it's back in the hands of the OC.
  23. I have all of the actual court documents, highlighted (and now changed) discrepancies/inaccuracies on my credit report, and a letter from Ford stating that they transfered/sold my account and do not have the means to verify. Will the CRA's dismiss these types of documents? EQ deleted months ago, I wish I know by what criteria they were willing to delete but TU and EX wont.
  24. not yet, I tried to get Ford to do it voluntarily. I definitely plan on doing so once I run out of steam. I've been really successful at getting deletions in the last six months, but I've not yet had to submit a large amount of supporting documentation for a removal. Do you (or anyone) have experience or advice on submitting substantial documentation as a means for deletion? I have about 10 documents (including the CA's court dismissal), basically the same supporting documents that seem to have failed me by going to Ford. How do the CRA's react when presented with this type of thing?
  25. sorry, I'm slow . Are you suggesting sending a letter to the CA or the OC? Another thing that keeps coming to mind......since it is completely obvious that during the time the CA was still collecting, that they were the actual party verifying the OC account (even by Ford's admission), would it stand to make sense that they may feel legally obligated to also request the deletion on the OC TL as well?
